We are a family-driven automotive shop — SF Auto Labs. The shop was started as an automotive educational lab to carry out car projects, learn, experiment, and build something with our own hands. Over time, that passion grew into something bigger.

Today, SF Auto Labs is focused on performance ECU tuning, German cars, and custom automotive projects. We proudly serve Bay Area car enthusiasts who want more from their vehicles — more power, better throttle response, improved drivability, and a more exciting driving experience."

Our main focus today is professional ECU mapping and tuning for German-branded vehicles, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volkswagen, and other performance platforms. In partnership with Project’A, a premier tuning company based in Los Angeles, we provide custom tuning solutions designed around your vehicle, your modifications, and your driving goals.

We understand that your car is more than just transportation. For many of our customers, it is part of their lifestyle, personality, and passion. That is why we take every tune seriously — whether you are looking for a clean Stage 1 upgrade, support for performance modifications, improved throttle response, or a stronger and more enjoyable daily driver.

PERFORMANCE TUNING WITH A PERSONAL APPROACH

At SF Auto Labs, we do not believe in treating every car the same. Every vehicle has its own condition, setup, history, and purpose. Before tuning, we take time to understand what the customer wants and what the car is ready for.

For local Bay Area customers, we offer in-shop ECU tuning at our Santa Clara location. We can inspect the vehicle, read the ECU, prepare the tuning process, work with our tuning partners, flash the updated map, and test the vehicle to make sure everything feels right.

For customers outside the Bay Area, we also support mail-in ECU tuning. You can ship your ECU to us, and we will flash the tuned file and return it as quickly as possible.

Even though our main profile has shifted toward ECU tuning and performance services, we continue to support selected car projects — especially those connected with performance modifications, custom builds, and unique automotive ideas.

Project cars are part of our DNA. This is how SF Auto Labs started, and we still enjoy helping customers bring interesting vehicles back to life or take them to the next level. Whether it is performance upgrades, mechanical improvements, or guidance on a custom build, we are always open to discussing serious projects that fit our experience and shop capabilities.
